Buena Vista Social Club stays youthful

And suddenly we were asked to, or – better yet –  given the privilege of, recording the Buena Vista Social Club. And not only was the Concertgebouw hopping, but also about 5,000 people in the Flevopark – many of whom proved able to master the salsa passes – followed the concert on a large screen. And although the very old-timers of the BVSC, such as singer Omara Portuendo, had aged a bit, this certainly could not be said of her vocal cords.
